About The Position

As a Diesel Technician / Mechanic at NFI, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical and mechanical issues related to tractors and trailers. You will utilize standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment, including JPRO and OEM Diagnostic Software, to ensure the fleet is maintained to the highest standards. Your role will also involve performing preventive maintenance and conducting DOT inspections in accordance with FMSCA guidelines. This position requires physical capability to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Technical or advanced degree or 2-3 years of equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting equipment repairs and maintenance with diagnostic tools and equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows.
  • Successfully demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Examples of teamwork and customer service skills, including good oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred ability to obtain a Class B license.
  • On-site evaluation with recommended training.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the fleet of tractors and trailers.
  • Conduct DOT inspections per FMSCA guidelines.
