About The Position

NFI is seeking a Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Fleet Services division. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical and mechanical issues related to tractors and trailers. The technician will utilize standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment, including JPRO and OEM Diagnostic Software. The position requires physical capability to perform all job duties, including lifting and pulling heavy equipment, standing or lying for extended periods, and flexible movement to reach equipment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with two shifts available: 6am-3:30pm or 3pm-11:30pm.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Preferred ability to obtain a Class B license.
  • Technical or advanced degree or 4-7 years of equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting equipment repairs and maintenance with diagnostic tools and equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows.
  • Successfully demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Examples of teamwork and customer service skills, including good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows Performance.
  • Perform DOT inspection per FMSCA guidelines.
  • Physically capable to perform all job duties, which includes being able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment.
