About The Position

The Diesel Technician/Mechanic Apprentice at Penske will work alongside experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience while supplementing their formal education from a technical or trade school. This role focuses on performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers, utilizing advanced technology and tools provided by Penske. The position emphasizes safety and compliance with DOT regulations, ensuring that apprentices develop the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the vehicle maintenance field.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a current technical/trade school for vehicle repair required
• Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required
• Must have a positive attitude and willingness to grow in position
• Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems
• Ability to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management
• Ability to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Current driver qualification file maintenance required, including MVR check and DOT Physical

Nice To Haves
