The Fleet Management Division is seeking a Senior Diesel Technician to join our award-winning Fleet Management Division. The Diesel Technician will be a key member of a dedicated team of highly skilled EVT certified technicians, supporting Fleet Management and Charlotte Fire Department. This position will be responsible for the daily evaluation, inspection, diagnosis and repair of fire apparatus and equipment for the City of Charlotte Fleet Management Division. The Senior level technician performs diagnosis and repair of complex electronically controlled diesel engines, modern electrical systems, air and braking systems, complex hydraulic systems, and additional complex systems specific to fire apparatus and support equipment including but not limited to fire suppression pumps and aerial rescue systems. This position requires the ability to support an on-call schedule 24 hours a day, including holidays and weekends, for 7 consecutive days. The on-call schedule will require the technician to be on-call in a 4-week rotation.
