About The Position

Repairs and maintains diesel tractor equipment

Requirements

• Knowledge of all aspects of tractor repair
• Excellent mechanical repair skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to visually diagnose tractor issues
• Ability to read service and repair manuals
• Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion
• Ability to read work orders
• Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
• Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to inspect tractor to determine repairs needed
• Good vision to inspect repair work
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
• EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 609 within 90 days of hire date
• Must have own tools
• Safety shoes (steel toe or composite) required

Nice To Haves

• Detroit and Cummins Certified preferred
• Valid CDL Class A driver's license preferred

Responsibilities

• Receives and carries out instructions
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems
• Services/inspects tractors and determines defects and potential problems
• Knowledge of air, electrical, drive train, steering, suspension, and engine systems
• Changes brakes, seals, and bearings and troubleshoots electrical problems
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned.
