About The Position

Eversource Energy is seeking an Auto Mechanic in Manchester, NH. Individual will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the heavy fleet including hybrid electric applications, aerial units and associated equipment. Included in the duties are tasks such as making repairs to engines, chassis, brake work, tire work, aerial units, hydraulics, electrical, diagnostics and other general repairs on trucks and equipment in the Area Work Centers, at the Automotive Maintenance Center and roadside response. The ultimate wage rate for this position is $44.78 In addition to the ultimate wage rate, this position is eligible for a shift differential of $2.00 per hour. Eversource provides all tools, uniforms, personal protective equipment and a boot allowance.

Requirements

Mechanical aptitude
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position
Manual and finger dexterity
Ability to communicate effectively, including being able to follow detailed written instructions
Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
Use basic hand, machine and power tools
Operate test equipment, diagnostic equipment, computers
Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical problems
Must have an Associate Degree in automotive / diesel technology or the equivalent in relevant work experience.
Must possess or be able to be trained to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (Class A) and a proven safe driving record.
Ability to work alone self-directed.
Experience with diesel - heavy trucks and heavy equipment required.
Candidates must successfully pass the TECH Test.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the heavy fleet including hybrid electric applications, aerial units and associated equipment.
Make repairs to engines, chassis, brake work, tire work, aerial units, hydraulics, electrical, diagnostics and other general repairs on trucks and equipment in the Area Work Centers, at the Automotive Maintenance Center and roadside response.
Storm restoration and emergency assignments.
