About The Position

Venture Dynamics is now hiring Diesel Shaft Mechanics for ongoing ship repair projects. Candidates must be skilled in mechanical repair, alignment, and maintenance of propulsion systems, diesel engines, and rotating equipment found aboard naval and commercial vessels. This position requires hands-on experience with shipboard mechanical systems and the ability to perform precision work in a fast-paced shipyard environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in ship repair or marine diesel/shaft work.
• Strong knowledge of diesel propulsion systems and mechanical alignment
• Must be DBIDS eligible (or able to obtain base access).
• Must pass a drug screen and background check
• Possess own basic hand tools and PPE

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble diesel engines, shaft lines, bearings, and couplings
• Perform shaft alignment and vibration checks using proper measuring tools.
• Install and remove propellers, seals, and rudders as required.
• Conduct mechanical repairs on pumps, gearboxes, and propulsion components.
• Follow technical drawings, specifications, and ship repair procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area following OSHA and shipyard safety standards.
