About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our dealership and repair shop specializing in Class 8/ 18-wheeler trucks. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks to ensure safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic working on heavy-duty trucks
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and truck systems
  • Ability to read and interpret diagnostic data and repair manuals
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and inspections
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required)
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a truck dealership or fleet repair shop
  • OEM experience (Freight-liner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, etc.)
  • ASE Diesel certifications
  • CDL Class A or B

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on 18-wheelers
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and steering systems
  • Service DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety regulations
  • Troubleshoot and repairing electrical systems, sensors, and onboard diagnostics
  • Perform oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
  • Use diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve issues
  • Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
  • Follow shop safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
  • Communicate repair needs and timelines with service advisors or customers
