As a Diesel Mechanic at Loomis, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet vehicles. Your primary responsibilities will include servicing and repairing all types of fleet vehicles, performing preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, replacing belts and hoses, inspecting brakes, and checking tires. You will be expected to diagnose and effectively repair mechanical, engine, and electrical issues across a diverse range of vehicles. This position requires you to drive both automatic and standard shift vehicles for testing purposes, as well as for the transfer and delivery of parts. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining an inventory of parts and supplies, ordering them as needed to ensure smooth operations. The work environment is dynamic and can be challenging, as it involves both indoor and outdoor settings. You will be exposed to various elements, including chemical handling and diesel fumes, and will need to manage intermittent high noise levels.
