About The Position

The main responsibility of the Fleet Technician is to maintain, repair and perform preventative maintenance on Dem-Con’s fleet of trucks and other assets as assigned. In addition, the position will work with the lead technician/s to diagnose and repair a variety of diesel trucks and equipment. The position will also complete dumpster repair and fabrication projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous experience in preventative maintenance or related mechanical skills including chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Experience with suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
• Ability to identify the source of malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Welding, cutting and fabricating skills.
• Engine repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of trucks and equipment and complete preventative maintenance as scheduled/needed.
• Diagnose and perform maintenance on Trucks, Trailers, and heavy equipment such as Loaders, Skid Steers and Forklifts.
• Communicate with leadership and operations to appropriately schedule any repairs, services and/or downtime of specific trucks or equipment.
• Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication repair service on Trucks, Trailers, Dumpsters, or other fabrication projects as assigned.
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles and documenting parts usage.
• Perform all work safely and in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards.
• Ensure maintenance shop is maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
