Diesel-Hostler Mechanics Needed Jacksonville, FL Pay Rate is determined based on experience, skill level and certifications $26 to $28 hourly Summary: Diesel-Hostler Mechanic will perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on diesel and hostler equipment in compliance with the manufacturers and company schedules. Mechanics will have previous working knowledge of air brake systems, diesel engine diagnostics using Insite, hydraulic systems, electronic controls, electrical circuitry, schematics, and a basic knowledge of diesel engine repair. Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to lift in excess of 50lbs
  • Open availability (24/7/365) available to work nights, weekends, and holidays that fall on your rotation.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
  • Must have your own tools (Heavy Duty tools are supplied)
  • Must be willing to complete a drug screen and background check.
  • Other duties as assign

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining heavy equipment within the Construction, Transportation, or Intermodal Industry is preferred.
  • Prior experience with Cummins diesel engines and D.E.F. systems is beneficial (Training is provided).

Responsibilities

  • Follow a checklist of inspection procedures.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Read and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment such as Cummins Insite
  • Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on all types of hostlers, diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment, in compliance with the manufacturers and company schedules.
  • Must have your own tools (Heavy Duty tools are supplied)
  • Cummins Insight, Cummins diesel engines and D.E.F. systems are helpful, but we provided training.
  • Must be willing to complete a drug screen, physical and background check
