About The Position
We are seeking Experienced Diesel Mechanics for our repair facility in Crestwood, IL, to repair our fleet of semi -trucks and trailers. Technicians should have a minimum of 3 years experience repairing heavy -duty trucks, trailers, or school/transit buses. This position is primarily shop -based, with additional responsibilities that include roadside and field repair work as needed.
Requirements
- 3 - 5 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems and components.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong problem -solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on heavy -duty vehicles and trailers.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system diagnostics; replace and repair major internal engine components, transmission repairs, and rebuilds.
- Perform DOT annual inspections on medium/heavy -duty vehicles and trailers.
- Use computer diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct inspections and tests to ensure vehicles and equipment are in proper working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
