About The Position

AUTO & DIESEL FLEET MECHANIC Transdev in Hamden, CT is seeking a C-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. CBA Position: Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement: $29.50-$33.00/HR (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale) Benefits include: Medical, Dental & Vision 401 (K) Company paid ASE testing, training materials An additional $.25/hr. for each ASE certification you acquires Annual allowance for tools, boots and prescription safety glasses Benefits may vary depending on location policy. Requirements

1-2 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
Valid CT license is required
ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided
Mechanic’s Tool Set
Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.
Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary
Other duties as required.
