About The Position
Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc., a family-run business celebrating its 84th year, is seeking a full-time experienced mechanic. The company welcomes applicants with an established career in the industry or those who are mechanics looking to enter the busing industry. Ideal candidates will possess a positive attitude, be adaptable to scheduling challenges, and take pride in their work.
Requirements
- Ability to read and understand basics of shop and service manuals.
- Must be able to provide own tools.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Punctual to work.
- Understand union environment and the need to be flexible due to seniority and business needs.
- Able and willing to work 2nd (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) to start. Shift may vary based on seniority and business need.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Diesel Mechanic experience strongly preferred.
- Must pass drug and alcohol screenings and DOT physical exam.
Nice To Haves
- Diagnostic equipment knowledge preferred.
- CDL license preferred (required for 1st and 2nd Class Mechanic).
- Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) certification preferred
- PA and/or NJ State inspection license preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform various mechanical repairs and maintenance on the Trans-Bridge Lines buses, support vehicles, and company cars.
- Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned
