We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Field Service Technician to perform high-quality preventive maintenance and repairs, with a primary focus on heavy construction equipment and company vehicles. This role involves both in-shop and field service work , ensuring machinery operates efficiently and safely.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues .
  • Experienced in exhaust systems, fuel systems, drivelines, differentials, hubs, and all other components of equipment on pavers, millers, rollers, and skid steers.
  • Proficient in reading and comprehending service manuals, technical bulletins, schematics, and diagrams (hydraulic/electrical).
  • Comfortable using technology such as laptops and tablets for diagnostics and documentation.
  • Owns a set of tools required for the job.
  • Holds a valid driver’s license
  • 5+ years of heavy-duty diesel or automotive mechanic experience.
  • Experience using diagnostic scan tools .
  • Stable work history demonstrating reliability and expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, inspect, and perform repairs on diesel and gasoline engines, as well as other heavy machinery such as pavers, millers, rollers, and skid steers.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment longevity.
  • Handle complex and major repairs on hydraulic, electrical, fuel, transmission, exhaust, and brake systems.
  • Perform field service calls with efficiency and urgency, completing repairs at job sites as needed.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Shop Foreman regarding equipment status, required repairs, and parts needed.
  • Document work performed daily through work orders (paper or electronic)
