Ability to do preventive maintenance checks and services and general maintenance/repairs of fleet vehicles to include semi-trucks, cars, pickups and yard trucks Ability to perform an Annual Federal Inspection Possess or able to obtain CDL Ability to complete written forms such as shop orders, inspection forms, and vehicle & equipment work history records Ensuring that tractors and trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements Ability to schedule and determine work priorities Ability to operate the various types of equipment to be repaired Basic shag operation to move trailers Basic forklift operation to move material around Working knowledge of MIG welder for aluminum and steel Working knowledge of torch for cutting & heating Ability to repair air brake systems Ability to do alignments on both tractors and trailers Working knowledge of matching tires for tread depth & brand Working knowledge of basic electrical principles, systems and components as they relate to vehicle and equipment operation Ability to read/understand electrical schematics Ability to inspect, repair or replace brake parts including brake pads, shoes, drums, and rotors Ability to repair/replace ABS System Inspect wheel seals, driveline system & U joints Able to perform routine Preventative Maintenance - Air, Oil, Fuel filter, full truck inspection Working knowledge of fuel system Working knowledge of laptop with diagnostic software Ability to locate & repair leaks with AC system Perform overhead valve adjustments
