About The Position

The mechanic diagnoses, trouble shoots, and repairs equipment using tools. This individual makes modifications and uses good judgment in making cost and time effective repairs. Inspect trucks/trailers for damage Prioritize workload Order parts for shop and equipment repair Organize and clean shop area including restroom Maintain and stock tires Schedule oil changes according to mileage Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles including changing filters, checking and topping off fluids, etc… Inspect brakes and replace as needed Conduct vehicle repairs including but not limited to engine, drive train, electrical, belts, pumps and A/C work Mount/Dismount tires Work takes place in a shop as well as outside Must be able to work in all weather conditions The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a valid pre-employment drug test
  • The employee will be asked to regularly carry 85 lbs
  • Must have general knowledge of diesel engines, brake systems, and transmission services
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively both in written format and oral communications
  • Must be able to follow directions and be aware of all safety policies
  • Must be willing to learn & abide by applicable safety laws/rules
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Must have the ability to read, write and speak English effectively
  • Must have the ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, sit, talk, and listen
  • The employee is required to use hands to handle, operate or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a CDL is preferred
