The mechanic diagnoses, trouble shoots, and repairs equipment using tools. This individual makes modifications and uses good judgment in making cost and time effective repairs. Inspect trucks/trailers for damage Prioritize workload Order parts for shop and equipment repair Organize and clean shop area including restroom Maintain and stock tires Schedule oil changes according to mileage Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles including changing filters, checking and topping off fluids, etc… Inspect brakes and replace as needed Conduct vehicle repairs including but not limited to engine, drive train, electrical, belts, pumps and A/C work Mount/Dismount tires Work takes place in a shop as well as outside Must be able to work in all weather conditions The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
