About The Position

Join Our Community of Food People! The Diesel Mechanic Technician position is essential for providing a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment. This role offers a starting pay of $34.00 - $43.00/hour depending on experience, along with a $10,000 retention bonus paid out over two years. Requirements

  • Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
  • TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.
  • Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs.
  • Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must furnish own personal hand tools.
  • Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA & DOT regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
  • Computer and software experience/ Noregon Diag Equip/A/C Recovery, Etc.
  • Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment.
  • Welding ability.
  • Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards.
  • Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.
  • Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.
  • Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
  • Assume increased responsibility and certifications as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
