About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Four (4) years or more of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred.
  • Ability to perform all T3 tasks.
  • Demonstrated advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work shift work/weekends and on-call duty as required.
  • Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all OEM on-line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix within 365 days.
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support, utilizing diagnostic computers/software when applicable.
  • Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine the best solution to assist roadside breakdowns.
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task.
  • Instruct and advise other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.
  • Coach and mentor other level technicians.
  • Advise shop management and other technicians on shop repairs.
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT).
  • Perform facility maintenance duties as required to support operations.
