About The Position

This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The work shift is A - 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a rotating schedule, always off Sundays. Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of previous experience in entry-level Mechanical Maintenance and must provide their own tools. A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are also required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year basic mechanical or maintenance work experience.
• 6 months work history with 1 employer within the last 2 years.
• Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance.
• Must have a current valid State driver's license.
• Ability to use basic electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools.
• Experience operating cutting torch and electric welder.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture.
• Receive training as required.
• Perform various positions as required/assigned.
• Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers.
• Complete oil changes, greasing, and repairing or replacing semi tires.
• Conduct brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Operate cutting torch and electric welder.
• Perform air brake, electrical, and air conditioning work.
• Lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet, bend, stretch, and reach.
• Work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
• Read and understand assignments and communicate both orally and in writing.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
