About The Position

We’re seeking a Diesel Mechanic II to join our maintenance team at our Mount Vernon facility. This role is ideal for a mechanic with a solid foundation in diesel repair who’s ready to build advanced skills in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. Requirements

• Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience preferred
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
• Skills & Abilities: Working knowledge of diesel mechanical systems and repair techniques
• Ability to read and follow service manuals, schematics, and written instructions
• Basic computer skills for work orders and maintenance records
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team
• Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
• Physical Requirements Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces
• Comfortable working in a loud, dusty, high-traffic industrial environment

Nice To Haves

• Diesel Technology certificate or Associate’s degree strongly preferred
• CDL is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and entry-to-mid-level repairs on diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
• Assist with diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and engine-related issues
• Conduct inspections and accurately document findings and repairs
• Support senior mechanics during major repairs, overhauls, and component replacements
• Test and verify equipment to ensure repairs meet safety and performance standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and service bays
• Participate in an on-call rotation as needed
