About The Position

First Student is hiring immediately for a Diesel Mechanic for our shop serving KIPP Academy and US Prep! As a Technician at First Student, you play an essential role in keeping students safe as they ride to and from school in our classic yellow buses. Why Join First Student as a Mechanic? Monday–Friday, 7 AM – 4 PM schedule Annual allowances for boots and prescription safety glasses State-of-the-art training programs Discounts on cell phone plans, vehicles, and more through our Perk Spot program About the Mechanic Position Our technicians ensure our fleet of newer vehicles is safe, reliable, and road-ready. Daily responsibilities include: Performing maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions Using diagnostic tools and troubleshooting issues Completing work orders accurately Assisting with mobile emergency repair services Mechanics/Technicians are designated safety-sensitive employees and subject to DOT drug testing. (DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits Schedule I drugs, including marijuana.) Requirements
