Requirements
- 1–3 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Working knowledge of diesel mechanical systems and repair techniques
- Ability to read and follow service manuals, schematics, and written instructions
- Basic computer skills for work orders and maintenance records
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working in a loud, dusty, high-traffic industrial environment
Nice To Haves
- Diesel Technology certificate or Associate’s degree strongly preferred
- CDL is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and entry-to-mid-level repairs on diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Assist with diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and engine-related issues
- Conduct inspections and accurately document findings and repairs
- Support senior mechanics during major repairs, overhauls, and component replacements
- Test and verify equipment to ensure repairs meet safety and performance standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and service bays
- Participate in an on-call rotation as needed
