About The Position
Academy Busâ is seeking a full-timeâ Diesel Mechanic-Class A with hands-on supervisory skills for the PM shiftâ for ourâ Clearwater, FL location. $2500 Sign on bonus. Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm Pay Range: $28.00-$34.00 per hour. Pay rate will be based on candidate experience level. Responsibilities:â Class A Diesel Bus Mechanic Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour busesâ â Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenanceâ Inspections and road testsâ Warranty and repair documentationâ Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly andâ cleaning of components such as:â brakes, suspension, tires,â bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages.â Respond to road callsâ Basic welding/fabricationâ Class A Mechanics will train and supervise Mechanics and Cleaners. Requirements:â â Diesel Bus Mechanic 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance Proficient in the use of diagnostic devices such as: DDEC readers, ATEC readers, SmarTire, schematics, AIC (Freon) recovery and charging equipment Must have supervisory skills and experience Proven ability to use hands tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment,â and testing instrumentsâ Must have own tools Valid driver's licenseâ Basic computer skillsâ CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus but not required, willingness to obtain a CDL License is also desirable. Requirements
- Diesel Bus Mechanic 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic devices such as: DDEC readers, ATEC readers, SmarTire, schematics, AIC (Freon) recovery and charging equipment
- Must have supervisory skills and experience
- Proven ability to use hands tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, and testing instruments
- Must have own tools
- Valid driver's license
- Basic computer skills
Nice To Haves
- CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus but not required, willingness to obtain a CDL License is also desirable.
