About The Position
We are seeking a motivated Diesel Mechanic Apprentice to work directly with our Lead Diesel Mechanic. This is an entry-level, hands-on position ideal for someone looking to build a career in diesel mechanics. The right candidate will be dependable, eager to learn, and able to work well in a team environment.
Requirements
- Must have basic mechanic hand tools
- Willingness to purchase additional tools as skills develop
- Valid driver’s license
- Basic mechanical knowledge (diesel engine experience preferred but not required)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well with others and follow direction
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of air brake systems is a plus
- Experience working on trailers and tankers is a plus
- Basic understanding of vehicle electrical systems is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Diesel Mechanic with daily maintenance and repairs
- Learn to diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems
- Perform basic maintenance on trucks, trailers, and tankers
- Assist with inspections and preventative maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
