About the position

This position is eligible for our $3,000 Sign-On/Retention bonus! As a Diesel Mechanic with Tradebe, you will perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, tankers, and other various types of commercial vehicles at our truck stop in Meriden, CT. You will be working on the first shift (Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM) and you must be able to supply your own tools for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all regulations, standards, and internal policies, to ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
  • Perform annual/FHWA inspections on commercial vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, as well as assisting other mechanics on various assigned tasks.
  • Utilize computers for diagnostics, and various computer software systems.
  • Accurately complete all task related paperwork.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience with maintenance on heavy duty trucks and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Knowledge of the DOT regulations.
  • ASE certification desirable, not mandatory.
  • Physically able to lift 60lbs.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft suite products.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
  • Ability to work the schedule for which you are hired for.
  • Ability to work on-site as described in the job description.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
