About The Position

As a Diesel Mechanic at WM, you will enjoy a stable work environment that prioritizes your financial security and career advancement. The role involves using modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance on diesel equipment and, at some locations, on CNG trucks.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
  • Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.
