About The Position

The Diesel/Industrial Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for the assembly, integration, and quality control of diesel and industrial vehicles within the manufacturing plant. This role involves working with various vehicle systems, including diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, and air brake systems, ensuring that all components meet operational standards and specifications. The mechanic will collaborate with the production team to maintain a safe, efficient, and organized work environment while performing routine maintenance and inspections. This position plays a key role in the production of high-quality vehicles, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the assembly or manufacturing of diesel engines or industrial vehicles.
  • Proficient understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, air brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals, service bulletins, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail.
  • High attention to detail with a desire for excellence
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with additional technical training or certification in heavy truck repair.
  • 2-4 years of experience in heavy truck maintenance and repair.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follow job orders, technical service bulletins, and manufacturer specifications to assemble and manufacture diesel and industrial vehicles, ensuring all systems are properly installed and function as intended.
  • Perform thorough inspections before and after vehicle assembly to ensure all components meet design and safety standards.
  • Install and integrate air brake systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and diesel engines into the vehicle structure according to specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and preventive measures on machinery and tools used in the manufacturing process to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Install critical vehicle parts such as headlights, heaters, wiper motors, belts, seats, windows, brake chambers, and air valves, ensuring proper alignment and function.
  • Perform necessary wheel alignments and tire installations during the vehicle manufacturing process.
  • Adhere to all industry safety norms and regulations while assembling and handling materials. Ensure work processes are carried out in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, materials used, and time spent on each vehicle. Document any issues or anomalies encountered during manufacturing.
  • Conduct functional test runs of manufactured vehicles to ensure performance meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Keep the manufacturing area clean, organized, and free of hazards. Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition and follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
