About The Position
As a family-first, regionally respected construction and paving company, is seeking a Truck and Equipment Mechanic to join their maintenance team based in Richmond, Maine. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in keeping equipment running safely and reliably, with variety in day-to-day tasks and opportunities to travel regionally with a close-knit crew. What You'll Do as the Truck and Equipment Mechanic: Diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to keep job sites moving Perform MIG and stick welding, fabrication, and part replacements as needed Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or damage Operate equipment and tools in compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirements Travel occasionally for regional field work, including some overnight stays Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed Handle physical work including lifting up to 50 pounds and working outdoors in all weather
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of relevant mechanical experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, diagnostics, and repair
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to supply your own tools
- Willingness to work in physically demanding conditions and pass drug/physical screening
Nice To Haves
- Maine State Inspection License
- CDL or ability to operate various heavy vehicles
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting MSDS sheets
