About The Position

Atlantic Emergency Solutions is seeking full time Diesel Engine Mechanic for our Richmond Service Center. Our Diesel Engine Technicians are responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding Cummins, Detroit, and Paccar engines. They perform work as assigned by the Shop Foreman in a timely and thorough manner, maintaining a superior standard of workmanship in all services performed. Technicians inspect, diagnose, and repair aftertreatment systems across multiple engine platforms, advising the Shop Foreman of recommended changes to services ordered and identifying additional repairs needed. They dismantle, repair, reassemble, and test diesel engines and components utilizing specialized tools and equipment. Attendance at training sessions is required to maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques. Technicians also perform additional repairs when equipment is returned due to workmanship issues to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain accurate work order records and time-clocked jobs. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of prior experience in the heavy truck/diesel industry.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. without assistance.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and have a satisfactory driving record.
  • Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with a tanker endorsement is required (or willingness to obtain).
  • ASE Mechanic and EVT certifications, as well as a state inspection license, are preferred.
