About The Position

The Diesel B Mechanic in Buena Park, CA position requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to heavy-duty Diesel Engine Diagnosis, repairs, as well as Forklift and Pallet Jack repairs. Comprehension of Fleet Maintenance operations, understanding of electrical, hydraulics, PM, and DOT inspection experience, and knowledge. Pay: $34.06-35.06 per hour (wages determined by current union contract) Shift: Monday - Friday 4:30 pm - 1:30 am CDL required, or 90 days to obtain The benefits of belonging – what’s in it for you? Requirements

At least 3 years of experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school.
Commercial Driver’s License class required; will give time to obtain.
Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
Knowledge of handheld scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
Ability to read schematics and be familiar with the process
Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to a fleet of light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty trucks. The fleet also includes CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
Perform services and repairs to diesel engines, brakes, tires, AC, and regular PM services.
Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary
Perform other duties as required
