About The Position

Turner Industries Group is looking for an experienced Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic for the Houston, TX area. The successful candidate will have a background working on large diesel engines - Cat, Cummins, Detroit - as well as experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems on heavy equipment such as cranes and dirt moving machinery, and dump beds. This is a long-term position based at our campus in Houston.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent.
• General gasoline and diesel engine knowledge.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and work self-directed and alone at times.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Valid Driver's License to drive a company repair truck.
• TWIC card and ability to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Tadano, Grove, or Liebherr certification preferred.
• ASME certified preferred.
• Technical training and/or industrial related safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Repairs automotive equipment, including but not limited to, trucks, carts, buggies, air compressors, welding machines, cranes, dirt equipment and trailers.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various automotive and heavy equipment.
• Enter various petrochemical sites and perform repairs on existing equipment, primarily cranes.
• Follow set procedures and standards; follow oral/or written directions.
• Complete additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
