About The Position

The Die/Mold Setter position is for the 2nd Shift (2pm-10:30pm) at Omega Plastics Inc. The role involves preparing injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and setting molds into machines. Responsibilities include setting barrel heats, process adjustments, robot configurations, end of arm tooling (EOAT), nozzle replacements, and managing connections for water, air, or hydraulic lines. The setter will also pull existing molds from presses and ensure all equipment is stored properly. Additional duties include supporting material handling and completing necessary paperwork.

Requirements

  • High School Education or Equivalent (GED).
  • Knowledge of safely and best practices on mold setup.
  • One to three months on-the-job training required.
  • Good disciplinary standing is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Read operator and setup instructions.
  • Fully understand the function of the mold, such as hydraulic core sequence and water diagram.
  • Set barrel heats after ensuring that the IMM is purged of previous material.
  • Clean mold's back plates and platens before and after each mold change.
  • Install and remove molds in accordance with established procedures.
  • Use a crane in accordance with established procedures.
  • Install all related connections needed for a mold change.
  • Install pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical signals, hot runner, RJG, cores without damaging them, verifying for leaks and proper signal relation.
  • Follow water line diagram and fill out water diagram if needed.
  • Ensure all water lines are connected, flow verified, and safety locks installed.
  • Connect and test hydraulic and/or pneumatic lines for proper function.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and timely.
  • Maintain all working areas free of trip hazards.
  • Fill hoppers with material using a ladder and bucket and/or automatic feeder.
  • Monitor dryers to ensure they do not run out of resin, clean or replace filters, and log all resin used.
  • Collect and weigh all purges when ready to be moved.
  • Utilize fork truck and manual conveyance systems for material control.
  • Issue and return resin and molds to proper rack locations and record in ERP system.
