Duties: Responsible for supporting the transition, operation and maintenance of TemperBox partial press hardening systems for structural parts; prepare set-up and production on the hot forming systems and blanking line; prepare tools for tool-change, checking material availability and providing the necessary supporting tools and equipment including conveyors, gauges, and grippers; complete the setup process and release the production when appropriate; correct defects or faults, and assign specialist personnel from tool maintenance or machine maintenance to carry out repairs; initiate quality control measures and directives from the Quality Assurance department; ensure overall quality of production processes with respect to quality, dates or deadlines, environment, health and safety regulations, and economic efficiency; utilize and apply knowledge of new project pre-series phases, coil loaded programming, 600-1600 ton presses, MES system, SAP, tool shop die setting processes collaborations, launch parameter set-up activities, AP&T Tailored Tempered Press Hardening Lines, press stamping operations, automotive die setting processes, and new die tryout procedures to perform assigned duties; ensure machines, as well as operating or auxiliary equipment, are ready for the operation bay; inspect machines, operating devices and auxiliary equipment, including feeding devices and conveyors, at regular intervals to ensure repairs are properly identified and carried out if necessary; provide support for CIP by developing, suggesting and implementing technical and organizational optimizations with respect to quality and economic efficiency; and provide support for production processes including jumping functions and changing blanks, when necessary. Location: 290 Nexus Drive, Dalton, Georgia, 30721 Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree – Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree) Training: None. Experience: One (1) year in the position above, as a Specialist Die Setter Hot Forming and Blanking, as a Press Operator, as a Press Shop Coach/Trainer, as a Hot Forming Press Operator, or in a related occupation. Will accept three (3) years' work experience in the position above, as a Specialist Die Setter Hot Forming and Blanking, as a Press Operator, as a Press Shop Coach/Trainer, as a Hot Forming Press Operator, or in a related occupation., in lieu of the primary education and work experience requirements. Other Requirements: Experience must include use of all the following: new project pre-series phases, coil loaded programming, 600-1600 ton presses, MES system, SAP, tool shop die setting processes collaborations, launch parameter set-up activities, AP&T Tailored Tempered Press Hardening Lines, press stamping operations, automotive die setting processes, and new die tryout procedures.
