The Role The Die Resident Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the development, tryout, and launch of stamped body components within GM’s die shop operations. This position serves as the technical liaison between product engineering, die design, and manufacturing, ensuring that stamping dies are designed, built, and validated to meet quality, cost, and timing targets. In this role, you will lead the engineering, design, and construction coordination of stamping dies, oversee primary and secondary tryout events, and drive issue resolution to achieve successful panel and sub-assembly launches. You will develop and manage timing schedules with assigned die shops, collaborate closely with internal and external partners, and ensure all deliverables are met to support program milestones. The Die Resident Engineer is instrumental in ensuring tool readiness, optimizing manufacturing processes, and delivering world-class stamped components into production.
