About The Position

The inspector will be responsible for inspecting each die before it leaves the machine shop. They will also assemble all dies to ensure they are fully functional. All required dimensional features will be checked using the appropriate inspection equipment, and these measurements will be recorded and stored electronically. Additionally, a visual inspection will be conducted to ensure that all dies shipped to customers meet Gala's quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong vision for First Time-Right (FTR) manufacturing and will work collaboratively with management and engineering teams to continuously improve FTR and on-time delivery.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education (additional technical skills a plus)
  • Use of measuring equipment commonly used in a machine shop.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and proactive in approaching tasks.
  • Independent self-starter with the ability to solve problems and anticipate potential issues.
  • Strong team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Focused on quality.

  • Machinist / Tool Maker apprenticeship card
  • Technical training / certifications
  • Knowledge of heat treating.
  • Experience with geometric tolerancing.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Use the most effective and efficient methods to measure each die.
  • Select proper measuring instrument for the feature being measured.
  • Dimensionally and visually inspect the product to assure the product meets all print and customer requirements.
  • Enter data in a data base.
  • Assemble the die after inspection, adding all components specified for that die.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.
  • The incumbent considers all interests of quality, accident prevention and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, material and environment actively
