About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Die Maintenance and Repair Technician to join our production facility. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our dies, including progressive stamping dies used in high-volume, high-precision jewelry component manufacturing. This role is critical in ensuring that our tooling runs safely, efficiently, and to exact quality standards. Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in die maintenance and repair, specifically focusing on progressive stamping dies.
Strong proficiency in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and strip layouts.
Expertise in operating manual tool room equipment (grinders, mills, lathes).
Experience with TIG welding for tool steel repairs.
Strong analytical problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

Experience in jewelry manufacturing or precision micro-stamping.
Knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment processes, and coating types.

Responsibilities

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on progressive dies to prevent production downtime and execute corrective repairs on worn or damaged tooling.
Troubleshooting: Analyze and troubleshoot die issues in the press and the tool room, identifying root causes for product defects (e.g., burrs, dimensional inaccuracies, material defects).
Component Repair: Disassemble, inspect, sharpen, and replace die components (punches, die buttons, springs, strippers).
Precision Machining: Operate tool room machinery, including grinders, manual milling machines, lathes, and drill presses to fabricate or repair die components to tight tolerances.
Welding: Perform TIG welding on tool steel for repairs as necessary.
Set up & Assembly: Assemble, align, and shim die components to ensure proper function.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and tool modifications.
Quality Control: Utilize precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauges) to ensure parts meet exacting, high-quality jewelry industry standards.
Safety & 5S: Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and maintain a clean, organized 5S workstation.
