About The Position

Department assistant manager overseeing all aspects of die conditions, corrective actions, preventive maintenance, machine shop, training programs and personnel accountability. This position grants instruction authority over dies and any operation that could impact its structural integrity and performance. Jefferson Southern Corporation, or JSC, is a Tier One automotive supplier. This means that we produce and sell parts that are ready to be installed in automobiles. Our parts are stamped out of steel and then welded. We produce several parts that are part of the “white body” or interior shell of the car. These parts are not very visible after the vehicle is completed, but they are vital to the strength, safety and performance of the car. Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree or Equivalent Experience or Associates Degree (AS) from an accredited Technical School; or one to two years of related technical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Over 5 years of machine ship and maintenance experience.
  • Over 2 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manpower scheduling and planning.
  • Implement procedures and investigations to evaluate and resolve root cause countermeasures for die troubles to improve productivity.
  • Implementation and management of preventive maintenance for all dies.
  • Management of all die maintenance policies, practices and procedures.
  • Implementation and management of die maintenance associate skill-up programs.
  • Development and management of downtime priority schedule.
  • Ensuring the dies are protected and all associates that are involved with the safe operation of these tools are following the correct procedures.
  • Overall responsibility for die maintenance personnel, die condition, machine shop safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Continuous improvement of die conditions that would reduce or eliminate any secondary process.
  • Lead die activity for New Model projects including but not limited to die buyoff, evaluating process plans, and trial schedules.
  • Summarize and analyze actual performance of die repair methods.
  • Responsible for all applications troubleshooting for die repair methods.
  • Increase SPM by die improvement and working as a team with stamping production.
  • Other duties as required by management.
