About The Position

Position Summary: The Bobst Mastercut Assistant Operator is responsible for assisting with and/or operating machinery to cut out parts of specified size and shape from corrugated board and properly offloading and inspecting finished material. The MC Assistant is responsible for helping the operator with setting up, running, inspecting and maintaining the machine. The person in this position is expected to learn the next highest job in the line of progression and step-up as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
Ability to effectively work in teams
Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job
Ability to operate hand tools
Ability to operate a forklift

Responsibilities

Operate machine to cut out parts of specified size and shape from corrugated board
Position and secure cutting dies to bed of machine
Cut and secure matrix scoring to cutting dies
Place and secure stripping jigs
Adjust tonnage according to thickness of material or height of cutting die
Measure finished parts with rule to verify conformance to specifications
Remove and stack finished material into units
May perform minor repairs on dies
Enter finished information into computer
Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
Program robot to desired specifications
