Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (minimum)
  • Must know how to drive a forklift
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be trained in tumbler and scrap remelt system.

Responsibilities

  • Operates 20-25-ton diecast machines which have the capability of producing 500 mpcs to 1500 mpcs per shift
  • Lifts waist high from 80 to 100 pt -14 containers filled with various parts that weigh from 44 to 52 bs
  • Pushes barrels to tumbler area after they are filled and tagged with identification labels. Weight 390lbs
  • Checks quality in depth at the beginning of each shift which includes cutting open one shot and gauging of parts. Stops machines if defect is found and notifies management and mechanic of findings.  Operators are responsible for quality problems caused by die breakage as well as variation in tolerance.
  • Automated robot loads two (2) furnaces with zinc ingots at a rate of 2800lbs per shift. Oxidized zinc (dross) is skimmed hourly from surface at input side.  Entire trough system that feeds 8 machines and melting pots are skimmed weekly or as necessary.
  • Sweeps zinc debris from around machines, aisle ways and furnace area.  Cleans machines and melting pots are skimmed weekly or as necessary.
  • Records production numbers from machines and transfer to production graph.
  • Performs other duties as required by management.
