Bargaining Unit: UUP Job Summary: The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/part-time Didactic Adjunct Instructor, Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. The successful candidate will: Deliver high-quality didactic instruction to DNP students in an online learning environment. Develop, update, and facilitate course content that aligns with program outcomes and accreditation standards. Engage students through synchronous and asynchronous teaching methods. Provide timely feedback, academic support, and mentorship to graduate-level learners. Collaborate with program leadership and faculty to ensure consistent and effective curriculum delivery. Participate in required faculty meetings, training, and evaluation processes (virtually). Assists in the development of new clinical leadership DNP Track.

Requirements

  • New York State Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner License.
  • Doctoral Degree in Nursing or a related field (DNP, PhD, EdD).
  • Demonstrated executive /senior leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practice, advanced clinical concepts, and doctoral-level academic expectations.
  • Prior teaching experience in leadership and policy with management systems (LMS).

Nice To Haves

  • Current advanced practice certification.
  • Record of scholarly work, practice leadership, or contributions to nursing education.
