Job Responsibilities Include: · Responsible for the set-up, programming, and safe operation of a Single Point Diamond Turning machining following established set-up, process and quality work instructions. · Prepares SPDT programs for new processes and works with department and team to develop new processes. · Works closely with other departments to improve efficiency and throughput. · Consults with the technical team to determine methods of manufacturing, fixturing needs, inspection criteria. · Performs routine preventative maintenance on the SPDT machine. · Performs inspection of optical components for compliance to written specifications and works with Quality Assurance with metrics and testing. · Documents processes and events · Other related duties as assigned. SAFETY: . Maintains safety for all employees assigned to operations. . Initiates and maintains proper and necessary safety and fire prevention equipment. . Operates tools, equipment, and machinery according to Micro-LAM Company Policies. . Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, etc.: . Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to management and/or safety Committee Members immediately. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: . Moderate walking, standing, heavy lifting (50lbs), carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching required for this job description.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in Single Point Diamond Turning programming & machining and/ or CNC Manufacturing and Programming.
  • Metrology includes the use and understanding of standard measuring equipment in addition to a Profilometer, interferometer etc.
  • Ability to use relevant computer applications: MS Office, MS Outlook, CNC programming
  • Experienced in running CNC machines or Optic generating machines (experience in both preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot G-code programs and adjust on machine to correct surfaces.
  • Advanced math skills
  • Must have strong attention to detail and continually seek to improve work processes.
  • Understand CNC programming and have the ability to create and/or modify CNC programs.
  • Document processes and work instructions for diamond tuning operation.
  • Ability to read and understand both optical and traditional blueprints. Ability to follow directions.
  • Must have excellent decision-making abilities.
