About The Position

The position involves supporting the mission and values of Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA) by managing medical records for dialysis patients under the supervision of a Clinical Manager or Charge RN. The role emphasizes adherence to compliance programs and regulatory requirements while ensuring patient confidentiality and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of relevant experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Computer skills, specifically knowledge of word processing applications.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain medical records of in-center and home dialysis patients according to company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• Store or dispose of obsolete files according to compliance procedures and regulations.
• Prepare hemodialysis records for the following day's activities, ensuring secure storage until needed.
• Chart, post, and file appropriate information per defined procedures.
• Assist with laboratory work processes, including preparing lab slips and tubes for blood work.
• Centrifuge blood or refrigerate samples according to laboratory specifications after draws.
• Pack and direct samples to the appropriate laboratory for testing.
• Post/enter lab results into the electronic database as needed, following state regulations.
• Assist in collecting Patient Statistical Profile and Continuous Quality Improvement Data.
• Maintain accurate records of hospitalization and patient travel to facilitate scheduling and testing coordination.
• Assist in auditing records for compliance with medical records standards.
• Help patients with transportation arrangements and coordinate transient patient paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including answering phones, greeting patients, and data entry.
