They will work alongside the Dialysis Nurse while operating and maintaining the dialysis equipment used during treatments. The Dialysis Tech is responsible for monitoring patients and ensuring patient safety throughout treatment and follow-up  DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 3 years’ experience as a Dialysis Technician preferred.  Strong understanding of medical terminology related to nephrology. Possesses an active CPR certification. Completion of a dialysis technician training program is required. Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) certification required through the Board of Nephrology Examiners and Technology (BONENT).  Must be fluent in English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding. Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Able to deal tactfully with personnel, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Possess leadership and supervisory ability and be able to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT    DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Monitors patient’s vital signs and attends to their needs during treatment. Identifies and responds to adverse reactions quickly. Holds an understanding of the dialysis equipment and how it works to operate equipment per established protocols Prepares equipment and supplies for treatment Properly maintains safety standards for equipment and ensures cleanliness by sterilizing after use. Conducts routine equipment checks and troubleshoot issues. Provides education to patients about the dialysis process and aftercare. Coordinates care with other healthcare professionals on the team. Documents and records patient information in the designated system.  Properly disposes of medical waste.  Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and childbirth as well as develop health improvement programs. Demonstrates proficiency in all company software required for the position. Other duties as assigned. Requirements
