About The Position

This position will be a combination of Dialysis Tech and CNA/Resident Assistant. Candidate MUST have Dialysis experience. The ideal hours for this role will be 12 hour shifts, (Mon-Wed-Fri, starting at 7am.) NO WEEKENDS. $5k sign on bonus included after 1 year! As a Renal Hemodialysis (HD) Technician, you will function as a contributing member of the healthcare team to meet the patient’s needs and provide safe and effective dialysis therapy through effective communication and commitment to quality outcomes. Renal HD Technicians will need to demonstrate empathy and understanding of patients’ emotional and physical concerns, ensuring they are always comfortable and well-informed.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.
  • Minimum Experience: At least one (1) year of Renal Dialysis experience
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing, including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have the proven ability to maintain professional conduct in the care of patients
  • Must possess basic computer skills
  • Current Dialysis Certification
  • Current State of Wisconsin CNA
  • Current BLS CPR issued by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Sets up, tests, and operates hemodialysis machines for patient treatments.
  • Obtains and documents necessary pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight for each patient.
  • Evaluates vascular access pre-treatment and perform vascular access cannulation.
  • Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or directed.
  • Monitors patients’ response to dialysis therapy.
  • Evaluates the patient prior to termination of venous access and discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures.
  • Reports any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the supervisor.
  • Enter all treatment data into the designated clinical application accurately and timely.
  • Collects, labels, appropriately prepares, and stores lab samples according to required laboratory specifications.
  • Cleans dialysis machine surface, chair, equipment, and surrounding area according to facility policy.
  • Assists other healthcare members in providing patient education.
  • Prepares, organizes, and efficiently uses supplies and equipment to prevent waste.
  • Explains the dialysis procedure and operation of the hemodialysis machine to the patient before treatment to alleviate anxieties.
