About The Position

Terms and Conditions apply Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed independent practitioner, the Dialysis Tech II assists with a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities. These include assistance with activities of daily living, comfort care and nutritional support, and performance of selected diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures as directed. Indirect patient care activities include maintaining a clean safe environment, and ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and equipment

Requirements

• Certification by the Board of Nephrology Examiners-Nursing Technology (BONENT) or the National Nephrology Certification Organization (NNCO) as a Dialysis Technician
• AHA BLS HCP Certification
• Current Dialysis Technician Certification
• Completion of state recognized CNA program OR Completion of first semester junior year in a BSN VCU/MCV BSN students: Completion of Sophomore year, Nursing 201, 202, 261Associate Degree and Diploma programs: completion of first year or a minimum of two semesters of basic nursing coursesSpecialty areas e.g. pediatrics, women’s health, psychiatry may require completion of a clinical rotation in that area orCompletion of medical assistant programHigh School Graduate or GED andCompletion of EMT program
