About the unit This unit supports pediatric patients requiring dialysis. Dialysis is performed on patients with both Acute Kidney Injury as well End Stage Renal disease. We have both inpatient and ambulatory spaces as well as a Level 1 trauma Emergency Department designated to children. Scope of work Responsible for performing direct patient care related to hemodialysis treatments under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsible for setting-up dialysis equipment and supplies in a safe manner. Performs all necessary duties to ensure and maintain quality of water used for Hemodialysis and documents as required. Performs all parts of Hemodialysis machine set-up and required dialysate testing. Collaborates with all members of the team for overall provision of optimal dialysis treatments.
