About The Position

Dialysis RN-Per-Diem Every Saturday - Morning Shift Queens-Long Island Renal Institute, located on the lobby level of the renowned Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation in New Hyde Park, New York, is seeking a Per-Diem H emodialysis RN to join our team of professionals. QLIRI provides state-of-the-art in-center hemodialysis treatment for kidney disease patients. Our experienced interdisciplinary team of nephrologists and renal nurses offer chronic dialysis services in a comfortable and modern setting. Located on the Queens-Nassau border, Queens-Long Island Renal Institute has a longstanding reputation for the finest quality of care, state-of-the-art technology and uncompromised dignity. Hemodialysis RNs at Queens Long Island Renal Institute are responsible for performing an age specific plan of care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. They collaborate with physicians and other health team members in coordinating and implementing procedures and treatments and use leadership skills/clinical judgment in coordinating patient care and directing/delegating activities of the patient care unit team.

Requirements

• RN license in NYS
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred.)
• Active BCLS (ACLS preferred)
• At least one year of recent experience in a chronic dialysis setting

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient's physiologic health status
• Assesses patient's psychosocial health status
• Identifies patient outcome
• Formulates the plan of care and establishes the priorities necessary to achieve expected outcome
• Implements the plan the care
• Evaluates care provided for patient outcome
• Collaborates with other care team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimen
• Provides direction to other members of the care team
• Administers medications correctly and safely
• Participates in patient and family education
