About The Position

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure. This role involves direct patient care, ensuring safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats, initiating, monitoring, and terminating treatment, and collecting blood samples. The PCT also performs technician duties such as preparing, cleaning, and disinfecting hemodialysis machines, conducting safety checks, and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed. The position requires adherence to appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment, and compliance with all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. Participation in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings is also expected.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent
Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients in need
Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency, within 8 weeks of hire
Successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire
CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state
Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter
Ability to distinguish all primary colors
Must be comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol

Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA

Responsibilities
