The Acute Dialysis Equipment Technician ensures all dialysis machines, systems, and equipment used in our St. Thomas Midtown Hospital Services Program are properly functioning and safe for use.
Schedule: Full-time, five 8-hour shifts starting at 7am, Monday-Friday
Compensation: Pay range from $20-$25 per hour, depending on dialysis experience

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills
• Desire to collaborate with care teams
• Ability to problem solve
• Minimum three to six months experience maintaining and servicing dialysis equipment and systems required
• Experience with reverse osmosis water treatment systems and centralized RO systems required
• Must successfully complete assigned manufacturer training courses within 12 months
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

• A college degree or some college credit a plus

Responsibilities

• Repairs, calibrates and maintains dialysis delivery equipment used in our acute hospital services locations to ensure proper function and safety.
• Oversees and upgrades reverse osmosis water treatment systems at the hosptial unit.
• Provides routine maintenance and repair of water treatment systems.
• Orders parts and manages inventory for all dialysis equipment, following DCI procedures.
• Is knowledgeable of and follows AAMI standards for water safety and for reprocessing.
• Documents repairs and maintenance according to DCI policy.
• Performs and documents air quality testing and takes appropriate actions.
• Knows and follows procedures relating to hazardous chemical use, storage and disposal.
• Knows and follows procedures relating to medical waste storage and disposal.
• Strictly observes infection control and safety procedures.
• Participates in and supports clinic quality improvement activities and risk management programs.
